The Country Store

Welcome to the Country Store The Country Store began with the Country Peddler coming across the mountains bringing buttons and bows, jewelry, clocks, and fabrics.  As more people moved in, he built the Country Store.  This came at a time when you were doing less farming and less live stocking.  The Country Store gave you a place to get your daily goods.  Your farm fresh produce, your sewing products and your tobacco products.  We started grist milling smaller portions of cornmeal and flour and  you could get your penny candy. This wast he Post Office as well as the Telephone Office.  As more people moved in we added the Apothecary drugstore, the Hardware department, the Miliary Shop for women, and the meat market.  All together so we could become the Walmart of country stores

Sewing Products
• Dry goods included bolts of
cloth, pins and needles, thread,
ribbon, silk, buttons, collars,
undergarments, suspenders,
dungarees, hats and shoes.

Produce Bin
• The farmer could bring his crops
to the County Store and either
sale them or use the crops as
barder.
• Fresh and ripe tomatoes, corn
on the cob, potatoes, greens, as
well as beans would greet the
buyer.
